STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The multi-year renovation of Beaver Stadium, which began after the 2024 season and is expected to cost up to $700 million, remains on target for completion by the start of the 2027 football season, athletic director Pat Kraft said.
This summer, the second phase of the renovation is underway and includes among other details, a new sound system, a new scoreboard on the north side, new field lighting, an expanded east concourse and the most noticeable part of the renovation to date, new bleacher seats on the upper west side. Penn State’s attendance this season will hover around 108,000, Kraft told Inside The Lions.
“We’ll start the season off with the middle section bleachers and then I think by the USC game all of those upper bleachers will be in,” Kraft said. “We continue to count, but I think we’ll be north of 108,000. I think we could get to 109,000, but what people don’t understand is there are all these nooks and crannies that we’re using now.”
